SNO To Sponsor Blood Drive

You are here

All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to donate blood next Thursday, November 8 during the blood drive sponsored by the Student Nurses Organization. Some facts you should know about giving blood include:

There continues to be a nationwide shortage of blood.
One in three people will need blood in their lifetime.
One pint of blood can be separated into several components and, therefore help save lives of several people.
You can safely give blood every 56 days.
Most medications are not cause for deferral. Donors must be at least 17 years of age and weigh 110 pounds or more, and be in general good health. There is no upper age limit as long as a donor meets all eligible requirements. Call 1.800.GIVE.LIFE or visit bloodisneeded.org for questions.
The entire process, from when you sign in to the time you leave, takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
There are 745 students, 44 full-time faculty plus adjuncts, and approximately 100 staff on the KWU campus. Please help us surpass the ARC 45 goal for us!

For more information or to schedule a time to donate, call 785.827.5541 ext. 2313 or email jamie.scheck@kwu.edu. Walk-ins are welcome.
