Kansas Raptors Presentation at KWU

Chuck Otte, the Geary County Agricultural and Natural Resources Extension Agent, will give the December program for the Smoky Hills Audubon Society. Otte’s presentation is entitled, “Kansas Raptors-Winter Time Confusion”, and will be on Thursday, December 20 at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Otte is a past president of the National Association of County Agricultural Extension Agents and the Kansas Ornithological Society (KOS) and the co-author of Birds of Kansas. He is the current moderator of the KSBIRD-L, the list serve well-known to birders in Kansas. He has also served on the Kansas Rare Birds Committee.
Otte has documented the historic irruption of snowy owls in Kansas and is currently coordinating the scheduling of Christmas bird counts in Kansas. Otte is widely-known as the “go-to” resource for birds in Kansas.
