On Thursday, February 28, the Kansas Wesleyan Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, and Full Orchestra will perform. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Pioneer Hall in Sams Chapel. 

The concert will feature music by W. Franic McBeth, Eric Whitacre, Robert W. Smith and many others. Songs performed will include: “The Seal Lullbay,” “Of Sailors and Whales,” “Sea Songs,” “The Winds of Poseidon” and many others. 

Stephanie Welter , an assistant professor in the biology department at Kansas Wesleyan University, will speak about "To Eat or Be Eaten -- Life in a Dangerous World" at the Feb. 21 meeting of the Smoky Hills Audubon Society.

Social time is 7 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Room 202 of the Student Activities Center at Kansas Wesleyan University.

Welter will explore how wildlife avoid detection and death through camouflage, mimicry and chemical defenses.

The hardest thing about a rap version of Shakespeare is doing iambic pentameter on a beat.

That's been the biggest challenge for actor Jennifer McCullick as she rehearses for "The Bomb-itty of Errors," a musical hip-hop version of one of William Shakespeare's early plays, "The Comedy of Errors."

"In a play, if you miss a line, you can call out for it," said the Kansas Wesleyan University student. "You can't call for a line in the middle of a rap."

That's also been a challenge for KWU student and cast member Amber Brown.

Over the next few weeks first time freshman and senior undergraduates will be given the opportunity to voice their opinions, along with thousands of other college and university students. The National Survey of Student Engagement will be emailing a survey on February 5^th to students across the United States and Canada. This year Kansas Wesleyan University is one of 619 institutions that will be participating.
