Kansas Wesleyan University’s Division/Department of Nursing Education continues to demonstrate quality outcomes. During the 2012 year, KWU nursing students held a 93.55 percent National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) pass rate compared to the national average of 90.34 percent. The program was recently recognized by the Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN) and received a Certificate of Excellence for this achievement.
It's National Nurses Week! This week is celebrated yearly between May 6, known as National Nurses Day, and May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightengale, the founder of modern-day nursing. Today also marks Student Nurses Day (designated in 1998). If you see any of our dedicated nursing students and faculty, please wish them a Happy Nurses Week! Driven, punctual, compassionate are three words Senior Brittany Jeffery would use to describe herself. On Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m., Jeffery will perform her Senior Recital at KWU University United Methodist Church.
Jeffery has been preparing for her recital since November 2012 and it will feature a variety of selections from her repertoire.
