Kansas Wesleyan Baseball student-athlete Tevin Kendall (SR/Wichita, Kan.) has been selected as the 2013-2014 Big Brother of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina.

"Tevin's leadership, commitment and dedication towards his match has not only made him a remarkable mentor and role model to his Little, Daniel, but also a wonderful example for other Big Brothers," said Heather Murdock, Program Coordinator.

Kendall and his Little Daniel, along with KWU President Matt Thompson, Director of Athletics Mike Hermann and Head Baseball Coach Mark Carvalho were all honored at the Big Brothers Big Sisters celebration on Monday night.
"We are grateful for the support and encouragement the University as a whole has given Big Brothers Big Sisters.  We look forward to continuing and building our partnership with Kansas Wesleyan," Murdock said.

Kansas Wesleyan student Katy Atkinson was also a finalist for Big Sister of the Year. This is the third year that the KWU Baseball team has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina. Other KWU sports teams have also been involved in several Big Brothers Big Sisters events throughout the year.
