KWU is currently the only institution in the state of Kansas selected to host FEMA’s 2015 L-363 Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Higher Education course. The three-day training at Kansas Wesleyan, August 4-6, 2015, will be offered free of charge to high school, college and university personnel  who are responsible for developing and implementing their campus emergency response plans.

“It is an honor to be selected as one of the top Emergency Management programs in the nation,” said Dr. Lonnie Booker Jr., program director/assistant professor. “We are fortunate to be located near Crisis City, operated by the Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM), and to have partnerships with local, regional and national Emergency Management experts and organizations.”

Mark Bandré, KWU Vice President for Enrollment Management, recently signed a 2+2 Articulation Agreement with Garden City (KS) Community College that allows GCCC Fire Science students to pursue a special course track in order to bring their associate degree to Kansas Wesleyan and complete the Emergency Management bachelor’s degree.
