The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is now taking applications for the 2017 class of Leadership Salina. For the first time, Leadership Salina graduates will receive course credit towards Kansas Wesleyan University's M.B.A. program.

Leadership Salina is a project of the chamber and the Greater Salina Community Foundation designed to develop leaders who will have the skills and capacities to move the community forward. Leadership for the 21st century includes a thorough understanding of the assets as well as the needs of a community. Salina's community leaders must have skills and understanding, as well as a sense of responsibility, caring and compassion for others, and the desire to serve and to give back.

Leadership Salina graduates who meet the Kansas Wesleyan application requirements will receive experiential credit in the equivalent of one elective course, leaving the participants with just nine courses to complete the M.B.A. Former Leadership Salina graduates will be grandfathered in.

Applications are due by Aug. 1 and can be found at the chamber or the chamber’s website. The class will be chosen in August, with the program running from August to November. Apply here
