In January 2014, demolition of the historic Glen Martin Stadium began what has become a most exciting project. Since the groundbreaking ceremony on June 6, 2014, there has been an amazing transformation of the property beyond the railroad tracks on the east end of the campus. We are very grateful to our many generous project donors who are bringing KWU back to campus for practice and competition, and allowing Kansas Wesleyan to host Sacred Heart football, youth football and more.
Top Executives Headline New Executive-In-Residence Program at KWU
The MBA classrooms at KWU will be powered by area top executives this winter as the university launches its Executive-In-Residence program on January 15. The university welcomes top-level executive, Larry Britegam, Chief Strategy Officer at The Bennington State Bank, to lead its 2015 Executive-in-Residence program.
Kansas Wesleyan Honors Its Fall Graduates With a Special Evening.
On Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, Kansas Wesleyan University held a graduation ceremony and reception for its fall graduates in the Hauptli Student Center inside the Student Activities Center. Graduates and their family members attended the special evening event, hosted by President and CEO Matt Thompson, Ph.D., and Dr. Nancy H. Cummings, Provost.
Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society announced on Dec. 2, 2014, from its headquarters in Searcy, AR, that forty-seven Alpha Chi chapters earned the society’s Star Chapter designation for the 2013-14 school year. Kansas Wesleyan University’s Kansas Delta chapter is the only Alpha Chi chapter in the state of Kansas to receive this honor.
Sodexo's Chef Craig, master of the kitchen at Kansas Wesleyan University, has begun offering cooking classes free of charge to members of the campus community. Sign-up sheets for these free cooking lessons are available on a table inside Shriwise Dining Hall (known to the students simply as "the Caf"). Sign-ups are limited to four or five persons per session, with three session times offered per cooking lesson day.
At its semi-annual meeting held in KWU's Student Activity Center on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, the Kansas Wesleyan University Foundation welcomed and affirmed three new members to the Board, re-elected one board member for another term, and selected its 2014-15 Board officers.
