On Tuesday morning, April 12, 2016, an active shooter scenario response exercise will be held in Salina, KS, from 8–11 a.m., conducted by Salina Regional Health Center, Salina Police Department, Salina Fire Department and Saline County EMS.

Awards Presented at KWU Student Juried Art Exhibition Reception
On Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 5–7 p.m., the KWU Department of Art and Design hosted a Salina First Thursday Art Rush Reception and Awards event for the Student Juried Art Exhibition in The Gallery at KWU, in Sams Hall of Fine Arts. It was attended by students, family members, faculty, staff and community members.

KWU Athletics to Host BBQ Meals at April 2016 Coyote Sports Events
Kansas Wesleyan University Coyote Sports will host BBQ meals of hamburgers and hot dogs with sides, pop and bottled water at upcoming April sports events, beginning with Men’s and Women’s Tennis on Monday, April 11. Food service will move from the campus dining hall to these locations for these meals. The public is welcome.

Kansas Wesleyan University will host the 2016 community-wide ecumenical Prayer Breakfast from 7–8:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 28. The event will be held in Muir Gymnasium, in the Student Activities Center.

On Mar. 16–20, the Kansas Wesleyan University Forensics and Debate competed in the Pi Kappa Delta National Comprehensive Tournament at the University of Kentucky, the largest national college speech and debate tournament in the country.

Student-Run Rec2Reality Program Teaches Life Skills
It’s one thing to play a game using the Nintendo Wii. It’s quite another to do that recreational activity in the real world. But through a unique partnership with USD305 called Rec2Reality, the Sport and Exercise Science students at Kansas Wesleyan University are helping high school students with exceptionalities to make that big transition and try things possibly for the first time.
