Visual Arts Major Requirements - 48 Credit Hours

Designed to prepare students for art careers or graduate studies in a specific medium. Please discuss with the department chair the opportunities available as some areas of concentration are dependent on the student’s interests and available faculty. Current areas of concentration are: drawing and painting. 

Each course is 3 credit hours. The student must complete ALL of the following:
ARTS 115 Foundations of Graphic Applications
ARTS 120 Two- Dimensional Design
ARTS 200 Drawing
ARTS 205 Painting-Acrylic
ARTS 208 Painting-Watercolor
ARTS 220 Printmaking OR ARTS 300 Figure Drawing
ARTS 310 Illustration
ARTS 260 Photography
ARTS 255 Survey of Art History
ARTS 265 Three- Dimensional Design
ARTS 425- Senior Studio
ARTS 450 Senior Exhibit and Portfolio
ARTS 467 Historical Research in the Visual Arts OR ARTS 360 Art History Since 1940

Each course is 3 credit hours. The student must complete 6 credit hours from the following courses:
