Professor Marshall teaches Speech classes, Communication theory, Oral Interpretation, and Children’s Theatre.  Her workshops in Family Narrative and Storytelling have been presented at Kansas Speech Communication Association Conventions and area schools. She was named KWU Exemplary Teacher and Salina Woman of Achievement in the area of Creative Arts.

Barbara Marshall is an active supporter of the Fine Arts in Salina, Stage Directing the KWU and Salina Symphony productions of six operas from 2005-2010.
