Book signing with Dr. John Blackwell
set for October 30 at KWU

CONTACT: Leslie Eikleberry, 785-827-5541 ext. 1127

October 20, 2004

Please join Kansas Wesleyan University as it welcomes author John Blackwell to the campus. A book signing, featuring Dr. Blackwell’s latest book, “The Noonday Demon: Recognizing and Conquering the Deadly Sin of Sloth,” is scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. October 30 in Memorial Library on the Kansas Wesleyan campus. Memorial Library is located just east of Santa Fe on Claflin Avenue. Please enter on the south side of the building. Copies of the book will be available at the event for $16.95 each.

Here is an excerpt from the book:

“Sloth is the Deadly Sin that attacks our desire to know God and the order that God created. Sloth makes us indifferent to the form that God wants the world and our relationships to take. Sloth makes us indifferent to order and unable to love.”

Dr. Blackwell is an author, speaker, retreat leader, professor, and pastor. He serves as minister of discipleship at First United Methodist Church of San Diego, and also is dean and senior fellow of the San Diego School of Christian Studies.

For more information about the book signing event, please contact Leslie Eikleberry, Director of Public Relations, at 785-827-5541 ext. 1127 or via email at leikleberry@kwu.edu.
