Please join Kansas Wesleyan
University as it welcomes author John Blackwell to the campus.
A book signing, featuring Dr. Blackwell’s latest book,
“The Noonday Demon: Recognizing and Conquering the Deadly
Sin of Sloth,” is scheduled for 1-2:3 0
p.m. October 30 in Memorial Library on the Kansas Wesleyan
campus. Memorial Library is located just east of Santa Fe
on Claflin Avenue. Please enter on the south side of the building.
Copies of the book will be available at the event for $16.95
each.
Here is an excerpt from the
book:
“Sloth is the Deadly
Sin that attacks our desire to know God and the order that
God created. Sloth makes us indifferent to the form that God
wants the world and our relationships to take. Sloth makes
us indifferent to order and unable to love.”
Dr. Blackwell is an author,
speaker, retreat leader, professor, and pastor. He serves
as minister of discipleship at First United Methodist Church
of San Diego, and also is dean and senior fellow of the San
Diego School of Christian Studies.
