Kansas Wesleyan University Art Department
faculty will be showcasing new work in The Gallery in Sams
Hall of Fine Arts March 1-18. Work by Bill Hottman, Nicolette
Mitchell, Rich Bergen, and department chair Brad Anderson
will feature a range of media including drawing, painting,
ceramics, sculpture, and photography.
“This is a chance for our students to
see that we are not just teachers, but artists as well,”
Anderson said. “It allows them to see us in a different
light.”
A special reception for the artists is scheduled
for 5-8 p.m. Thursday (March 3) in conjunction with ArtRush,
a city-wide gallery walk and arts event in greater downtown
Salina. More than 15 venues around Salina will be showcasing
art or entertainment for the event and refreshments will be
available at many locations.
A special gallery talk is scheduled for noon
on March 8 in The Gallery. During the talk, KWU art faculty
will discuss their work and answer audience questions in an
informal brown bag lunch. Light desserts and drinks will be
provided for this event.
