Members of the Kansas Wesleyan University
Forensics Team won big during the Kansas State Individual
Events Championship Forensics Tournament at Bethel College,
Newton, on Saturday and Sunday (February 26-27).
In addition to Kansas Wesleyan, eight other
institutions were represented: Baker University, Bethel College,
Garden City Community College, Hutchinson Community College,
Kansas City Kansas Community College, Kansas State University,
Ottawa University, and Washburn.
Following are the Kansas Wesleyan results
from the tournament:
Megan Hagaman, Abilene, and
Rodney Wren, Moundridge, won the Parliamentary
Debate Championship.
Hagaman also placed first in Overall Individual
Sweeps (for individuals entered in four events and who score
the highest overall), second in Extemporaneous Speaking, fourth
in Impromptu, and fourth in After Dinner Speaking.
Wren also placed second in
Prose and second in Poetry.
Alli Denning, Ellsworth, and Steve
Sommerville, Belleville, placed third in Dramatic
Duo.
Sommerville also placed sixth
in Dramatic Interpretation.
In addition to the individual and team success,
Kansas Wesleyan was chosen to host the 2006 state championship
tournament.
