VanZandt Scholarship from the
Kansas National Education Association-Student Program (KNEA-SP)
for the 2005-2006 academic year.
Lackey received the award during
the KNEA-SP State Representative Assembly on March 11 and
12. The scholarship was established in memory of VanZandt
who was Associate Executive Director of Kansas NEA from 1976
until he retired in 1996. The scholarship is designated for
a non-traditional student.
“Trena has brought recognition to herself for her achievements
in the Teacher Education Program and recognition to our local
chapter of KNEA-SP,” said Dr. Kathleen Barrett-Jones,
faculty advisor of the Kansas Wesleyan KNEA-SP organization.
