The good news just keeps coming for Kansas
Wesleyan University’s Nursing Education program.
The National League for Nursing Accrediting
Commission (NLNAC) recently notified the university that both
the bachelor’s and associate nursing education degree
programs have been approved for continuing accreditation.
The next evaluation visit is scheduled for the spring of 2012.
“By choosing to be accredited by
NLNAC, you and your faculty have demonstrated your commitment
to the highest standards of nursing education. Your successful
accreditation shows that your school does indeed meet these
high standards,” Barbara Grumet, NLNAC executive director,
wrote in the notification letter to the university.
The NLNAC is recognized by the United
States Department of Education as the national accrediting
body for all types of nursing education programs.
Earlier in the year, the university received
approval from the Kansas State Board of Nursing to begin a
new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program for
students with no prior nursing experience. There is also a
new RN-BSN program for registered nurses who want to earn
the BSN degree while continuing to work. These programs began
this fall.
