For the third consecutive year, Kansas Wesleyan University’s retention rate from fall to spring has increased, according to 20th day enrollment figures released today.
The 20th day of classes was February 4, 2010.
Retention from Fall 2009 to Spring 2010 was at 90.5 percent, up from 90.1 percent the previous year. It was the highest retention increase since the 2002-2003 academic year. Additionally, the number of new full-time undergraduate students in Spring 2010 was up 4 percent from a year ago.
“Retention is our most important variable. It measures the effectiveness of all our programs, beginning with enrolling the right students and ending with their graduation, indicating successful attainment of our high standards of academics. I am pleased to see improvement in this vital area,” said President Fletcher Lamkin.
Headcount for Spring 2010 is 777.
