In keeping with the United Methodist Church tradition of supporting education, the congregation of the Miltonvale United Methodist Church has established an endowed scholarship at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Through a $10,000 contribution, the church established the Miltonvale United Methodist Church Endowed Scholarship to provide financial assistance to worthy KWU students.
“Through its generosity, the congregation of the Miltonvale United Methodist Church has shown that a church does not have to be huge to make a big impact on the lives of Kansas Wesleyan students,” said KWU President Fletcher Lamkin.
Persons eligible for the scholarship awards include current KWU students and those admitted to study at KWU who meet the following criteria.
First preference will go to a student who is a member of the Miltonvale United Methodist Church.
Second preference will go to a student from Miltonvale.
Third preference will go to a student from Cloud County.
Subsequent preferences will go to a student from one of the counties immediately surrounding Cloud County; a student from the Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church; and a student from Kansas.
