Service Learning

Kansas Wesleyan University's Sport and Exercise Science Department provides students with the opportunity to further their education through meaningful service-learning events. Through the annual Wellness Fair, Hoops for Heart, American Heart Association, Rec2Reality, and numerous health walks and runs throughout the community, the Sport and Exercise Science Department is bound to have an opportunity of service learning for you! Through service learning, the Sport and Exercise Science Department is able to give back $4,000-$5,000 to the Salina community the past two years. This was accomplished through Hoops for Heart and other various wellness fundraisers. Advanced Exercise Testing Prescriptions course provides members of the United Methodist Church the opportunity to be assessed in physical abilities and then recommended proper prescriptions to obtain a fit lifestyle.

The Sport and Exercise Department has numerous internships available during and after attendance to Kansas Wesleyan University. Some of these internships include, but are not limited to the Salina YMCA, Genesis Sports Club, the Salina Bombers arena football, the San Diego Chargers and the United Methodist Church.
