Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
Kansas Wesleyan University, located in the robust arts community of Salina, KS, has launched the careers of successful actors who have made names for themselves in television, radio and professional theatre. Students who desire a theatrical experience driven by a passion for the arts should sign on for the focused fun of Kansas Wesleyan’s Theatre Department. In addition to receiving training from skilled instructors who have worked in the theatre industry, students have opportunities to become a part of a community of theatre artists beginning the first day of class. Straight plays and musicals are in the lineup of student possibilities, not only on stage but backstage including stage management, set construction crews, props crews, costume crews, lighting and sound.
Why Study at KWU? Community partnerships open doors!
The university’s strong relationship with the Salina Community Theatre (SCT) provides KWU students the opportunity to participate in many aspects of community theatre productions. In addition, the Theatre Arts students participate in main-stage productions, student-directed one-acts and senior projects in its 150-seat on-campus theatre. Collaborations with the KWU Music Department and the Salina Symphony have included operas at the historical Stiefel Theatre.
