Rachel Hinde-Constantino '09 joined the KWU MARCOM staff Dec. 1, 2020 after a long-term, successful stint working for the city of Salina. Hinde spent nearly six years with the city, during which time she worked with 13 government departments to develop and implement over 20 communication campaigns per year. She also oversaw the development of the city's website in 2014 and created Salina's first community-wide social media plan (for the 2020 Census). She is a former co-chair of the Salina Public Relations Hub and a long-time member of the Kansas Association of Public Information Officers. Hinde also implemented programming to brand Salina as the "most military friendly town in Kansas", and as a result, saw the city named as Kansas' best practices model for the program. She also published a biweekly video talk show on city news, and in her previous role (Director of Communications and Military Affairs for the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce) was co-host of a weekly radio talk show.
Hinde's primary duty at KWU will be serving as webmaster, a role that includes helping transition KWU.edu to a new site in the fall of 2021. She will also assist the university's MARCOM director with special projects, including regional and state-level marketing initiatives.
