The Salina community has many options for dining and entertainment during your visit. Find out more at Visit Salina. In addition, several hotels offer discounts to KWU visitors. Consider one of these options during your stay.
If you plan to fly to Kansas to attend Commencement Weekend, Salina Regional Airport now offers service from Denver and Chicago.
The university plans to live-stream video of the Commencement ceremony on KKWU's YouTube channel. Videos of Baccalaureate and the Graduation Celebration Dinner will be available online within a week of the event.
A Class of 2019 photo will be taken on the front steps of the Hall of Pioneers immediately following the Baccalaureate service. Graduates must be on the steps no later than 11:50 a.m. Copies of the photo will be available from the university’s online photo website shortly after Commencement. To better allow families to enjoy the commencement ceremony and ensure the safety of all guests in the arena, a professional photographer will take the photos of all graduates as they receive their MBA hood and/or diploma from the President. Guests of the graduates are kindly asked to not leave their seats at any time during the ceremony to take photos. All graduates will be able to download their FREE and PROFESSIONAL graduation photos at kwu.edu/graduation2019 one week after graduation.
Open seating in the area designated for guests will be on a first-come, first served basis. The arena doors will open at 1:30 p.m. for the graduates’ family members and friends. Tickets are not required, but guests are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony to ensure seating. State fire codes mandate that we close the arena doors when the maximum occupancy levels have been reached. We thank you for your understanding of this mandate. Out of courtesy for all graduates, guests should not leave until the entire ceremony is completed and all candidates have been recognized.
Accessible seating will be available in Mabee Arena in the reserved floor seating area. These seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to accommodate as many family members and friends with disabilities as possible in the reserved seating area, individuals needing accessible seating will be permitted to have one companion accompany them into the accessible seating section. Ushers will be available to assist guests.
Kansas Wesleyan will make every effort to accommodate parents and guests, however accessible seating is limited and advanced planning is strongly encouraged.
Parking is available within walking distance of the arena. Please do not park in the parking spaces reserved for disabled persons unless you have the proper tag.
Commencement programs will be distributed to guests at the arena as they arrive for the ceremony.
