The Value of KWU
We live in a different time than 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Questions abound in higher education about value, choice and student outcomes. Here at KWU, we understand. We embrace those questions, believing The Power of AND is the ultimate answer. Below are eight reasons why KWU offers exceptional value for you now AND in the future.
Community
Salina is a city with easily accessible amenities — and a small-town feel that helps KWU students flourish. Our community connections result in job and internship opportunities, as well as chances for students to have host families when they’re away from their own.
Preparation
Students who attend KWU will graduate with excellent study habits, critical thinking skills and practical experience. Hands-on learning through internships and job shadowing helps them apply these traits to their future career field. Whether they intend to pursue further education or go straight into the workforce, they’ll find themselves prepared for the path ahead.
Success
Our students have a 98% placement rate following graduation from KWU. They’ve gone on to become successful performers, accomplished scientists, directors of Emergency Management programs, leaders in their business careers and much more!
Academics
We value the importance of an education that gives students one-on-one time with their professors. Approximately 87% of our classes are below 30 students. We believe the best way for a student to learn is by building a strong rapport with the professors whose classes they attend, which accommodates individualized learning experiences.
Scholarships
KWU offers tremendous scholarships, designed to help our students focus more on their studies, growth and development during their time on campus.
Facilities
The last several years are highlighted by notable growth on KWU’s campus. Enhancements include the Nursing Education Center, fully renovated Music facilities and performance spaces, and brand-new experiential learning areas, like the Jack Wilson Forensic CSI Lab.
Holistic Approach
Being part of the KWU community means engaging with the whole self. Students are not only encouraged to seek academic excellence, but to pursue spiritual development and personal well-being, build their character and understand their responsibilities as a member of everyday society.
Stability
With an endowment of over $50 million, KWU has the funding to maintain its current standard of excellence for many years to come, thanks to the efforts and fiscal responsibility of our Foundation Board. As economic uncertainties rise, students and parents can rest assured KWU is a stable institution that can and will continue to provide for its faculty, staff and students.
