International Undergraduate Admissions Process

We welcome international students and student-athletes at Kansas Wesleyan University. Our student body has included men and women from up to 15 countries worldwide, including the United States.

Undergraduate Admissions Deadline:

Fall Semester: July 1st
Spring Semester: November 1st

You will be required to pay in full prior to the start of the semester. Please contact the Business office – (785) 827-5541 – to discuss the current deadline for payment.

Please note that international applicants who graduated from a US High School, or attended an accredited US College/University for more than one year, are not required to submit proof of English proficiency. However, all applicants are required to provide verification of financial support, along with official transcripts from previous institutions attended.  Also, admission into Kansas Wesleyan University is based upon the regular admissions standards for First-time or Transfer students depending on the applicant’s classification of status.

In order to be considered for an undergraduate admission to Kansas Wesleyan University, interested students must complete the following steps.

Step One: Complete an Application for Admission

Download and fill out admission application below. Upon completion of your application, you must provide verification of financial resources showing your ability to cover your KWU expenses. A certified bank letter showing available funds converted to US currency is acceptable, or provide bank statements for the previous 6 months prior to the term of enrollment.

Step Two: Submit your official evaluated transcripts to the Office of Admissions

All foreign high school/college transcripts must be evaluated by InCred or World Education Services (see below) in order to determine if you have met the First-Time Freshmen or Transfer grade point average required for admission. Transcript evaluations, along with your certified High School/College transcript copies, must be submitted to the Office of Admissions before the listed international admissions enrollment term deadline.

*Please note, that a basic evaluation with grade point average is required incoming freshman applicants, and a course by course evaluation is required for transfer applicants.

Step Three: Proof of English Proficiency

International applicants who are coming from English speaking countries or who have graduated from an accredited US College/University are not required to submit proof of English proficiency. However, all applicants are required to provide verification of financial support, along with official transcripts from previous institutions attended, before their admissions file can be reviewed for graduate admissions.

To provide proof of English proficiency:

  • Submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores if English is not the primary language in your country.
  • Meet the required TOEFL/IELTS scores for admissions listed below:
    • TOEFL Paper Based Score: 550
    • TOEFL Internet Based Score: 79
    • IELTS Score: 6.5

Note: TOEFL scores are only valid for 2 years from test date.

International Applicants coming from English speaking countries will be required to meet the regular admissions requirement scores for the American College Test (ACT) or Student Achievement Test (SAT).

  • A minimum ACT composite score of 18 or SAT composite score (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math): 960 are required for admissions acceptance.

In order to be considered for an graduate admission to Kansas Wesleyan University, interested students must complete the following steps.

Step One: Complete a Graduate Admissions Application Online

Submit proof of financial resources demonstrating the ability to cover your Graduate School costs including tuition, fees, books and supplies, housing, travel, health insurance, and emergency funds.  KWU cannot consider your application until this documentation arrives.  A certified bank letter showing available funds converted to US currency is acceptable, or provide bank statements for the previous 6 months prior to the term of enrollment.

Step Two: Submit your official evaluated transcripts to the Office of Admissions

All foreign college transcripts must be evaluated by one of the following agencies in order to determine if you meet the required undergraduate grade point average for admissions. An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 Scale is required for graduate admission.

*Please note, that a “course by course evaluation” is required.
