Fall Graduation Recognition Ceremony 2026: Dec. 11, 2026 in Sams Chapel

Graduates who intend to walk during this ceremony need to RSVP with Jill Koster by November 30.

Fall Graduation FAQ

When and where is the fall recognition ceremony?
Friday, December 11 at 6 p.m. in Sams Chapel. Please enter through Bieber Hall (south side of Pioneer Hall).

What time do I need to arrive?
Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Graduation candidates and their guests should plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m. to allow time to check-in at registration. Class photo will take place in Bieber Hall at 5:40 p.m.

How many guests can I bring?
At this time, there are no restrictions on the number of guests each eligible fall graduation candidate may invite.

How do I order graduation announcements?
Most students/families decide to create their own announcements with software on their own computers, or use an online service such as Jostens, Shutterfly, Zazzle, VistaPrint, etc. An official KWU logo file can be obtained from the MARCOM office by sending a request to [email protected]. It is recommended to allow six weeks for ordering your announcements.

Do grads need to RSVP?
Yes, so we know you are participating in the ceremony. RSVPs are required by Nov. 30 via email to [email protected].

Do guests require a ticket to attend?
No. Seating available on first-come, first-served basis.

Do graduates wear regalia?
No, graduation candidates do not wear regalia for the fall recognition ceremony. Attire for the event is business dress.

Will my name be called when I walk across the stage?
Yes.

When will I receive my diploma?
The Registrar’s office will mail out fall diplomas in early January. Graduation candidates are to confirm their correct home mailing address with the Registrar’s office by November 1.

When can I get my college transcript?
Degrees are not awarded until all grades are posted and the registrar has reviewed each candidate. Transcripts with degree posted for verified fall graduates will be available by January. Prior to the end of the fall semester, transcript requests may be submitted to Parchment.

What do I do if I have outstanding university debt?
KWU will not issue diplomas to any student unless they have satisfied all debts or obligations owed to the institution. Please clear all outstanding debt with the Business Office by 4:00 pm on November 25.

How long is the recognition ceremony?
The ceremony is expected to last just under one hour.

Will the ceremony be available online?
Yes, the recognition ceremony will be live-streamed and can be accessed at the link provided closer to the ceremony.

Will there be an opportunity for photographs?
The university will take a photo of each graduate as they cross the stage and are congratulated by President Thompson. All photos will be available for free download in the weeks after the ceremony.

Do I need a parking pass?
No, parking is available in any of the campus parking areas.

Where can my guests stay in Salina?
KWU partners with several area hotels. Please mention KWU to receive the corporate rate.
