Why Major in Accounting?

An Accounting major prepares students to understand, analyze, and communicate the financial information that drives organizational success. Students develop expertise in financial reporting, taxation, auditing, and business analysis while building strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the Bachelor of Arts in Accounting should be able to:

  1. Analysis – Identify and implement the appropriate managerial methods to analyze accounting data and other information used for decision making.
  2. Ethics – Demonstrate knowledge and application of prescribed ethical codes and behaviors in the workplace
  3. Communication – Use clear and concise communication to convey relevant financial and non-financial information, so that decision-makers can formulate informed decisions.
  4. Professionalism – Prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other relevant standard-setting bodies.
