Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Ethical Treatment of Human Subjects

The IRB is an administrative body established to protect the rights and welfare of human research subjects recruited to participate in research activities conducted under the auspices of KWU, in accordance with the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects (45 CFR 46) and The Belmont Report. The responsibilities of the committee shall include the training of individuals in the ethical treatment of human subjects, the review and approval of proposals for research involving the use of human subjects and the keeping of appropriate records to document such research activities.
