The Coyote Forensic and Debate Squad traveled to the University of Central Missouri on Oct. 20–23 to take on 20 other universities and colleges at the annual Missouri Mule Tournament. Kansas Wesleyan was very competitive individually, with seven placings in events against some very good competition. Purdue dominated the Parliamentary Debate Division, while the Western Kentucky and Southwest Baptist were the big winners in the forensic division.

In Parliamentary Debate, the KWU team of senior Dakota Yates and sophomore Megan Kline, Wesleyan’s only entry, placed fourth. In Forensics, Megan Kline won Extemporaneous Speaking and placed sixth in Informative. Dakota Yates placed fourth in Extemporaneous Speaking and fifth in Communication Analysis. Katie Merrill placed sixth in Poetry Interpretation, and Tanner Bowles placed sixth in After Dinner Speaking.
