Major Options

  • Elementary Education

KWU offers Health & Physical Education Programs for K-12 and PreK-12, with emphasis in either Health or Physical Education. Additionally, students who major in Music Education can choose an emphasis in either instrumental or vocal. A Special Education endorsement can be added to any education major offered at the time of entrance.

Teacher Licensure

KWU offers a teacher licensure program for those individuals who have previously earned a bachelor’s degree or higher and wish to become licensed to teach in that subject area.

Special Education Endorsement

Through cooperative arrangements with other member colleges in the Kansas Independent Colleges Association (KICA), students who are majoring in education may meet an added endorsement requirement for teaching high -incidence special education at the P-6, 6-12 or P-12 levels. For additional information, please contact the Department of Teacher Education.

Note:  All coursework for this endorsement can be completed during a regular four-year program.
