The Humanities Department brings together English, History, Religion and Philosophy in a dynamic, student-centered community that explores what it means to be human — through language, story, belief and the record of the past.

At KWU, you’ll sharpen your writing and critical thinking, learn to analyze complex texts and historical evidence, and engage big questions about ethics, faith, identity and society. Small, seminar-style classes, hands-on internships in museums, libraries and ministry settings, and deep engagement with diverse perspectives prepare you to communicate effectively, lead thoughtfully and serve communities with integrity.
