National Nurses Week

It's National Nurses Week! This week is celebrated yearly between May 6, known as National Nurses Day, and May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightengale, the founder of modern-day nursing. Today also marks Student Nurses Day (designated in 1998). If you see any of our dedicated nursing students and faculty, please wish them a Happy Nurses Week! Jeffery to Present Senior Recital

Driven, punctual, compassionate are three words Senior Brittany Jeffery would use to describe herself. On Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m., Jeffery will perform her Senior Recital at KWU University United Methodist Church. Jeffery has been preparing for her recital since November 2012 and it will feature a variety of selections from her repertoire.
International Buck Meal Raises Money

Each year the International Club hosts The International Buck Meal in efforts to raise money for charitable cause. This year, the club decided to donate all proceeds to Eddie Creer, a vocal instructor at Salina South High School and host parent to two international students from Taiwan, who is in need of a bone marrow transplant. A total of $210 was raised and donated to Mr. Creer.

Ambassador End of the Year Banquet

An Evening of Sprituals

On Thursday, April 25, the voice students of Kansas Wesleyan University will provide their audience with an evening of spirituals. The recital features the KWU voice students of Leslie Mangrum, Michelle Dolan, and Bill Tuzicka. Each student has learned an African American spiritual this semester and will perform them at the recital.
Wellness Fair This Saturday

Alpha Chi Students Return from National Convention

Six Kansas Wesleyan students recently returned from the national Alpha Chi convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Faith Ramsey, Brooke Berg, Ben Waugh, Cassie Wuest, Tonya Powers, and Jourdin Watkins all attended the conferece, where they listened to various presentations, and volunteered to deliver books for the national service project, Alpha Chi, Reading is Fundamental.
KWU Helps Save the Starving

On Tuesday, April 9, Kansas Wesleyan will host Salina Saves the Starving in Muir Gymnasium from noon-8pm. Hundreds of volunteers will donate their time and energy to packaging meals for children in an orphanage, girls' home, and also for a feeding program in Honduras. Donations are also being accepted online at www.salinasavesthestarving.com - where just $65 will feed a family of four for over a month.
